State of Michigan Recreation Pass

If you are driving to Belle Isle, please note that the Island is a Michigan State Park.  You must have a State of Michigan Recreation Pass to get on the island.  If you already have a pass with your license tab renewal, you are all set.  Otherwise, you may purchase an annual pass on Belle Isle ($9 for Michigan residents and $11 for non-residents.)   This annual pass is good for all Michigan state parks, so get out and explore nature in Michigan!

Please note that the State of Michigan police presence is VERY strong on Belle Isle. The speed limit on the island is 25 mph (not 50 mph as the Bride knows all too well.).
